كما كان متوقعا أشارت وسائل الإعلام المتخصصة أن مايكروسوفت انتهت رسميا من تطوير نظامها الجديد و المنتظر ويندوز 10 و الذي سيأتي في 29 يوليو القادم، و من المفروض أن يكون الإصدار التجريبي الجديد هو آخر إصدار تجريبي و بالتالي فإن الأمر يتعلق بنسخة نهائية.

موقع The Verge أشار إلى أن شركة مايكروسوفت قررت اعتماد الاصدار التجريبي الأخير رقم "10240" كإصدار نهائي و عدم إضافة أي تحديثات جديدة، و بالتالي فإن المشاركين في البرنامج التجريبي لمايكروسوفت يكونون قد حصلوا فعلا على النسخة النهائية من نظام ويندوز 10.

و سيكون أمام مايكروسوفت في الأيام القليلة القادمة توفير نظامها الجديد ويندوز 10 لمصنعي الحواسيب من أجل إدماجه في أجهزتهم الحديثة، فيما سيكون على باقي المستخدمين ممن يملكون نسخا قانونية من ويندوز 7 و ويندوز 8.1 انتظار تاريخ 29 يوليو الجاري للمرور رسميا و بشكل مجاني نحو هذا التحديث.
